Fenrir – the wolf-child of Loki and the giantess Angrboda – is an important figure in Norse mythology. He is a brother of the Midgard serpent and the underworld goddess Hel. Aesir gods raised Fenrir themselves in order to keep his immense strength and durability under their control. He grew at an astonishingly fast pace, so eventually the troubled gods had to trick Fenrir to chain him up. From that moment on, the river called “Expectation” flowed from his drooling mouth, until the doomsday “Ragnarok ” when he breaks free devouring everything in his path – with his lower jaw against the ground and his upper jaw in the sky. Dwarves, being the most skilled craftspeople in the cosmos, were able to forge a unique chain. Its strength couldn’t be equaled and it appeared being very light and even soft to the touch. The story of Fenrir in chains was our inspiration for the wolf themed dog collar.

Sizing

Collar in the gallery is M/L size. Collar has 5 eyelets, approximately an inch apart. M/L size has the first eyelet placed on 17.5”, and fifth eyelet on 20.5”. Below you will find a detailed list of available collar sizes.

M/L size (17.5-20.5”) i.e. 45-52 cm – 1st eyelet closes on 17.5″, 5th on 20.5″ so choose this size for the dogs whose close-fitting neck circumference is between 17.5″and 20.5″
Collar width: 2” (5.1 cm) at the back, 1.2” (3 cm) under the chin

L size (18-22”) i.e. 46-56 cm – 1st eyelet closes on 18″, 5th on 22″ so choose this size for the dogs whose close-fitting neck circumference is between 18″and 21″
Collar width: 2” (5.1 cm) at the back, 1.2” (3 cm) under the chin

L/XL size (21.5-25.5”) i.e. 55-65 cm – 1st eyelet closes on 21.5″, 5th on 25.5″ so choose this size for the dogs whose close-fitting neck circumference is between 22″and 26″
Collar width: 2.35” (6 cm) at the back, 1.5” (3.8 cm) under the chin

You should measure your dog before ordering

Sauri leather dog collars are compact – firm but not stiff. Leather edges were hand skived, polished and painted for more elegant look and supple feel around the neck. To avoid riveting on collar’s inner side we hand stitch the buckle part. This traditional leather crafting skill makes Sauri dog collars especially well suited for dogs with fine hair and/or sensitive skin.

Care & maintenance

For regular care you should wipe off the collar from mud and similar dirt using a semi wet cloth followed by a dry one. Collar’s foreground leather can be treated with a neutral water resistant leather protectant spray & leather impregnation spray. Avoid soaking the collar with water.
